My professional career began in technical aspects (design, programming) and gradually expanded into team management. Highlights include:

• Leadership of multicultural teams and projects in countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Peru, and the USA.
• Development and presentations of short- and medium-term technology strategies, highlighting cloud migration approaches in IaaS and PaaS models.
• Evaluation and execution of projects of various sizes and complexities, in cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments, using agile and traditional methodologies.
• Successful planning and control of Capex and Opex budgets.
• Definition of Best Practices and Corporate Architectures.
• Adoption of DevOps, CI/CD, IaC, and Code Review processes.
• Creation of Proofs of Concept (POCs) to validate or discard future developments, particularly when development teams are unavailable.
• Researcher and promoter of new technologies, especially collaborative and open-source ones.

After two decades of professional experience, I decided to take a sabbatical to focus on my family and personal projects. During this time, I directed my technological interests towards resolving challenges within my personal environment, applying methodologies and tools typically used in a business setting. This included:

• Private Infrastructure: Designing and managing self-hosted environments, emphasizing automation, availability, efficiency, and digital detox across over 110 connected devices and more than 90 deployed services.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Integration and synchronization with cloud services on Cloudflare, Google Workspaces, and AWS.
• Programming: Developing components for decision-making based on the massive processing of structured and unstructured data, such as financial information, government data, and multimedia content.
• Inner-Ground: Creation of inner-ground.com, a website providing information about my ability to design solutions for homes and businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Data Delivery Lead, lead a team in Latin America to build the new corporate data platform, based on top of AWS cloud services.
• As a POS Solution Architect, standardize the use of technologies within the company and the technical counterpart for the joint venture Scotiabank-Cencosud.

Main Projects and Achievements

• 2022 - 2023: Data Delivery Lead. Led a team of 15 engineers in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, with the goal of building the new corporate data platform on AWS. With no historical data, I estimated cloud service costs and tracked them the following year, demonstrating a low variance.
• 2020 - 2021: Corporate Data Lake. Led a team to build a cloud-based Data Lake on AWS, replicating the on-premise Teradata.
• 2020: COVID-19. Supported the CTO by developing tools to evaluate technology utilization and its effect on productivity during the pandemic.
• 2019: Regional Self-Checkout Platform. Prepared the technical foundations for the bidding process and participated in the evaluation of proposals and vendor selection.
• 2018 - 2019: Scotiabank-Cencosud Credit Card Sales. Developed an MVP for sales visualization (near real-time) during cyber days events. Following exceptional results with the MVP (+7% YoY), a new application was created for daily operations and future events. The project involved selecting and leading the team that developed the new application.

Key Responsibilities

• Bridge between corporate architecture teams in Walmart USA, Mexico, and Argentina.
• Researching, testing, presenting, and proposing to the CIO and his reports the corporate practices, methodologies, and tools for adaptation to the Chilean market.
• Defining development standards and best practices, evangelizing to various internal and external teams (vendors).
• Leading complex or high-impact projects (TOP projects).
• Providing support to various IT teams in the design and architecture of the application ecosystem.

Main Projects and Achievements

• 2016 - 2017: Technological Modernization: Cloud. Evaluated feasibility and developed the business case for migrating applications to cloud services, securing approval from corporate leadership.
• 2017: Windows 2003 EOL / Oracle Hyperion. Analyzed and led the project within a limited timeframe and resources, coordinating efforts between Chile and the United States.
• 2016 - 2017: Oracle Commerce Platform Upgrade - ATGv11. Developed technical documentation detailing the interfaces and high-level designs for integrating the new ATG platform with the eCommerce backend.
• 2015 - 2016: eGLS (eCommerce Global Logistics System) Integration. Led integration projects between the corporate eGLS system and the eCommerce ecosystem. The scope and complexity involved direct collaboration with experts from Walmart, Cognizant, WIPRO, and Accenture. The team (operating from Chile and India) developed over 25 real-time and batch flows. As an architect, I proposed the creation of the new applications “OMS”, “Labeling System”, and “vPOS / Virtual POS,” which were subsequently developed by other IT teams.
• 2013 - 2014: eCommerce Order Middleware Migration. Led the migration of the application from IBM Message Broker technology to the open-source WSO2 ESB product.
• 2014: 2014 Tax Reform. Led and coordinated teams between the United States and Chile to meet the deadlines stipulated in the law.
• 2014: Global Application Management Support(AMS) Project. Transferred knowledge and certified the take-over process of the applications under responsibility to a new offshore support team in India.
• 2010-2013: D&S – Walmart Integration. Coordinated and led the integration and changes of legacy systems (about 30%) that were not replaced by Walmart systems (remaining 70%), after Walmart’s acquisition of D&S.

2007-2010: Project Manager at D&S.

  • Project leader, reporting to the Business Development Area on the IT Development Management Team.
  • Evaluate various aspects of projects and ensure their successful implementation.
• Main Projects and Achievements
  • IFRS Regulation. Led the project with the goal to revalue inventory goods in compliance with IFRS standards.
  • New Stock Inventory and Accounting for Goods. Led the project for the implementation of a new inventory and accounting system.
  • February 27th Earthquake Claim. Collaborated with claims adjusters as the technical expert, responsible for preparing and explaining data and algorithms of lost/damaged goods valuations.
  • Real-Time POS Sales. Led and managed the project. Application owner.
  • MQ Messaging Integration. Application owner.

2003-2007: Consultant, Analyst and Programmer at Brave Technologies.

• Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate effort (time and costs) and propose technology solutions for the company’s clients/customers.
  • Programming and application development (primarily in CA Plex, COBOL/400, and SQL).
  • Provided 24x7 support shifts.

  • InfoRetail B2B Portal. Designed, built, and unified web portals for suppliers using CA Plex, Websydian, and HTML.
  • Electronic Invoicing. Analyzed and developed applications using COBOL/400 and integrated them via MQ/400 messaging.
  • Real Estate System. Analyzed and developed a system (similar to an ERP) for Saitec Real Estate Company.
  • Brave Technologies Website. Enabled and generated content for the Brave Technologies website.
